Ivo Caprino was born on 17 February 1920 in Oslo, Norway. He was a director and writer, known for Owls in the Marsh (1959), The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (1975) and The Ashlad and the Hungry Troll (1967). He was married to Liv Bredal. She was a Norwegian illustrator and doll-master.
She was mother of movie-maker Ivo Caprino, daughter of diplomat Ove Gude and granddaughter of famous Norwegian painter Hans Gude. She was married to Mario Caprio, later to Bernhard Dorotheus Folkestad.
She work together with her son, Ivo Caprion, on several of his film projects until her death in 1963.
